Women in Engineering Peer Mentoring
Women in Engineering Peer Mentorship program connects first year female engineering students with upper year female students in engineering. Peer Mentors have achieved success throughout their university career and are knowledgeable of the many resources on campus.
Peer Mentors are committed to providing positive guidance to mentees by connecting them to various aspects of the UOIT student experience through either face-to-face meetings or through online communication. Peer Mentors will aid students in identifying difficulties, setting goals, facilitate access to campus resources and build confidence in the students’ strengths and abilities. Peer Mentors will encourage mentees to be engaged, self-advocating learners; both inside and outside the classroom.
This program allows the mentee to determine how long they would like to be mentored (by semester or by academic year) and decide how they would like to be connected to their mentor.
